It is New Year and I wanted to start off this year by giving back to society. On New Year, I went to the local slum areas and distributed some extra surplus of food that was kept over. This was freshly kept nutritious warm food consisting of rice with chicken and rice with cottage cheese. I also distributed some sweets to the children. People in these slum areas live in harsh conditions, with barely a roof over their heads. It was a fulfilling experience to be able to help in some way. Food is a basic necessity that we all need in order for survival. This should be available to all but is unfortunately not the case. Through my charity, Anika Food Charity I hope to tackle both food wastage and hunger.
